Platform Engineer, Infrastructure

As a Platform Engineer at Helius, you'll build the infrastructure foundation that powers one of Solana's leading developer platforms. Helius runs its global edge network and high-performance services on bare metal, and you'll join the Platform team to make that fleet faster to provision, safer to access, cheaper to run, and reliable to deploy to. Your work will directly enable applications used by millions, including Coinbase, Jupiter, and Phantom.

What you'll do

• Automate the server lifecycle end to end: provisioning, OS installs, configuration, hardware validation, and decommissioning
• Build and maintain the tooling engineers use to interact with the fleet, so nobody hand-configures a machine twice
• Standardize how you build and deploy software to machines: CI pipelines, artifacts, deploy tooling, and rollbacks
• Execute security roadmap items alongside the security lead: SSO-integrated access, jump hosts, secrets management, least-privilege access, and audit trails
• Run cost analysis across the fleet, including cost per workload, provider comparisons, and hardware refresh decisions, and turn it into recommendations
• Improve observability for the infrastructure you own, and take part in on-call and incident response
• Write clear runbooks and docs so the rest of a remote team can operate what you build

What you bring

• Extreme ownership: you treat the systems you touch as yours, see problems through to the fix, and automate yourself out of repetitive work rather than living with it
• 3+ years in infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering
• Hands-on bare metal experience, such as provisioning and managing physical servers (PXE, IPMI/BMC, RAID, NICs), working with colo or dedicated-server providers, and debugging hardware versus software issues
• Deep Linux fundamentals, including systemd, networking, storage, and performance tuning
• Experience with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Salt, Nix)
• Solid scripting or programming ability in Python, Go, Bash, or similar
• A security mindset: you think about access, blast radius, and secrets by default, not as an afterthought

Nice to have

• Rust experience, or interest in reading and debugging Rust services
• High-performance networking or low-latency systems experience
• Familiarity with ClickHouse, Prometheus, or Grafana
• Experience at a high-scale B2B infrastructure company
