Procurement Manager

As Procurement Manager at Sardine, you become the first in-house buyer supporting purchasing across every team: software and IT, marketing and events, travel and employee onboarding, professional services, and beyond. You own the full vendor lifecycle, managing relationships, negotiating deals, tracking renewals, and guiding stakeholders through purchasing decisions to ensure Sardine buys the right tools and services at the right price. You work closely with finance, IT, legal, and business leaders in an environment where strong judgment and relationship management are essential.

What you'll do

• Manage vendor relationships end to end, owning negotiations on pricing, payment terms, ramps, and renewal protection while balancing business needs and long-term partnership health
• Guide stakeholders through sourcing decisions, align them on options and strategy, and keep purchasing disciplined without slowing teams down
• Drive savings and better terms by cutting waste, consolidating redundant tools, reclaiming unused licenses, and rigorously comparing market options
• Track contract details, own renewal tracking, and follow through with accuracy and organization
• Coordinate vendor security and data privacy reviews (SOC 2, DPAs) with Security and Legal, and review core contract risk terms such as indemnification, liability caps, and insurance
• Build procurement processes from the ground up: intake and PO workflows, contract and renewal tracking, spend visibility, and lightweight tooling implementation in partnership with Finance and Legal
• Buy across many categories and departments, managing a broad vendor portfolio simultaneously

What you bring

• 5+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, or commercial negotiations, ideally in-house at a high-growth technology or software company
• Proven track record independently owning vendor negotiations, contract management, and renewal tracking across multiple functions and spend categories such as software/SaaS, marketing and events, travel, and professional services
• Strong negotiation skills: you create leverage, hold firm on price and terms, and make practical trade-offs that benefit the company
• Experience evaluating vendors competitively and negotiating favorable pricing and terms
• Ability to influence stakeholders, push back when needed, and partner cross-functionally to keep purchasing disciplined
• Track record building procurement processes from the ground up, including intake/PO workflows, contract and renewal tracking, and spend visibility tooling
• Experience coordinating vendor security and data privacy reviews and reviewing core contract risk terms with Legal and Security
• Excellent executive-level written communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
