QA Engineer - Contract

As a QA Engineer at Plume Network, you'll ensure that our WiFi and platform software products meet our customers' quality expectations. You join a team building the world's first open and hardware-independent service delivery platform, now serving over 60 million locations globally. In this in-office role based in Hyderabad, India, you'll design and execute rigorous test strategies across WiFi connectivity, networking, and embedded platforms.

What you'll do

• Design, document, and execute test plans for WiFi connectivity, performance, stability, and functionality.
• Develop and maintain Python-based test automation to improve coverage and reduce regression cycles.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing across WiFi, networking, and embedded platforms.
• Test and troubleshoot 802.11 protocols, Layer 2/3 networking, routing, VLAN, NAT, DNS, and DHCP.
• Reproduce, debug, and root-cause complex field and system-level defects.
• Use tools such as Wireshark for packet analysis and network troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with software, firmware, and QA teams to define test strategies and deliver high-quality products.
• Participate in feature and design discussions and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.

What you bring

• 3 to 5 years of experience in QA, SDET, or Software Test Engineering, preferably in WiFi, networking, or IoT.
• A strong understanding of WiFi (802.11) and networking fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with embedded and router platforms and hardware test environments.
• Strong Python scripting and test automation skills.
• Experience with Wireshark and network troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of TR-369/USP, TR-181, TR-069/TR-098.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with RDK-B, prplOS, OpenWrt, or similar Linux-based router platforms.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Postman, or similar QA and CI tools.
