Quant Developer / Quantitative Software Engineer - DeFi WealthTech Startup

As a Quant Developer at Skyrocket Ventures' client company, you are the only quantitative strategist on a team of 4 engineers building at the intersection of decentralized finance and wealth technology. You work directly with the CEO, who previously worked in high frequency trading, to develop retail-focused quantitative strategies using the full crypto and DeFi stack.

What you'll do

• Build retail-focused quantitative strategies working with cutting-edge technology
• Contribute to products that leverage every component of the crypto and DeFi stack
• Work primarily with Python and TypeScript to implement on-chain strategies
• Work directly with the CEO on strategic direction and execution

What you bring

• Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and systems fundamentals
• Ability to learn unfamiliar domains quickly
• Experience building on-chain and blockchain strategies such as Basis Trades, Funding Rate Arbitrage, Lending/Borrowing/Looping, and similar approaches
• Experience managing capital risk and building systems to observe and control risk during volatile markets
• Deep on-chain knowledge with a thorough technical and economic understanding of swaps, lending, AMMs, and perpetuals

Nice to have

• Emphasis on type-safe boundaries, domain-driven architecture, and correctness in financial systems
• Experience building production systems with Cloudflare Workers, Workflows, Durable Objects, Queues, R2, D1, KV, Pipelines, service bindings, and scheduled triggers, including infrastructure management through Wrangler
• Familiarity with Viem/Wagmi, ZeroDev Kernel smart accounts, session-key permissions, SIWE/Privy authentication, and bundler/paymaster infrastructure; EVM experience is expected, with Solana/SVM and cross-chain execution experience as strong pluses
• Experience with Hono, tRPC, Zod, durable workflows, event-driven architecture, and realtime systems, plus the ability to design idempotent and replay-safe execution paths across distributed Cloudflare services
• Comfort with agent-native engineering, using coding agents such as Codex or Claude Code for codebase research, implementation, testing, and review, while maintaining ownership of architecture, security, and correctness
