Quantitative Developer - DeFi WealthTech Startup

As a Quantitative Developer at Skyrocket Ventures' DeFi WealthTech client, you are the founding quant on the team, building retail-focused quantitative strategies at the intersection of decentralized finance and modern wealth tech. You work directly with the CEO, who has a background in high frequency trading, using cutting-edge technology across the crypto and DeFi stack.

What you'll do

• Build retail-focused quantitative strategies using the full DeFi stack
• Work as the only quantitative developer on the team, owning strategy design and implementation
• Develop onchain strategies including Basis Trades, Funding Rate Arbitrage, Lending/Borrowing/Looping, and similar approaches
• Design and maintain systems to observe and control capital risk in volatile markets
• Work primarily in Python and TypeScript

What you bring

• Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and systems fundamentals
• Demonstrated experience building onchain and blockchain strategies such as Basis Trades, Funding Rate Arbitrage, Lending/Borrowing/Looping
• Experience managing capital risk and building systems to observe and control risk during market volatility
• Deep onchain knowledge with a thorough technical and economic understanding of swaps, lending, AMMs, and perps
• Ability to learn unfamiliar domains quickly

Nice to have

• Advanced Python and TypeScript skills with emphasis on type-safe boundaries, domain-driven architecture, and correctness in financial systems
• Production experience building systems with Cloudflare Workers, Workflows, Durable Objects, Queues, R2, D1, KV, Pipelines, service bindings, and scheduled triggers, with comfort designing stateful, event-driven, edge-native systems and managing infrastructure through Wrangler and Alchemy
• Familiarity with Viem/Wagmi, ZeroDev Kernel smart accounts, session-key permissions, SIWE/Privy authentication, and bundler/paymaster infrastructure, with EVM experience expected and Solana/SVM or cross-chain execution experience as a strong plus
• Experience with Hono, tRPC, Zod, durable workflows, event-driven architecture, and realtime systems, with ability to design idempotent, replay-safe execution paths across distributed Cloudflare services
• Comfort with agent-native engineering using coding agents such as Codex or Claude Code for codebase research, implementation, testing, and review while maintaining ownership of architecture, security, and correctness
