Quantitative Trader - Crypto Prediction Markets
What research roles in crypto pay
45 salaries · our own dataMost research roles in crypto pay between $101k and $232k, with a median of $145k.
As a Quantitative Trader at RAVEN, you own pricing, hedging, and market making across crypto prediction markets, competing against equally skilled counterparties. Most crypto prediction contracts are digital options with liquid underlyings trading in spot and perpetuals. You will price options off the volatility surface, manage two-sided quotes that reprice as the underlying moves, hedge delta into perpetuals and spot, estimate probabilities on unhedgeable events, and conduct research on full-depth historical data with backtests that respect latency and queue position.
What you'll do
- Price digitals and barriers off the crypto volatility surface, managing skew, term structure, and jump risk to close the gap between model price and market execution
- Quote and market make with two-sided prices that reprice as the underlying moves, tuned to latency and venue reach, with inventory managed across strikes and expiries
- Hedge delta into perpetuals and spot, accounting for funding and basis as the cost of carry, and managing pin risk and gamma as expiry approaches
- Estimate event probabilities on the unhedgeable half of the book with calibrated numbers, explicit priors, and appropriately sized positions when uncertainty is high
- Conduct research on RAVEN's full-depth historical data with backtests that respect latency and queue position
- Manage risk including correlated exposure across strikes, expiries, and venues, tail risk through jumps, and oracle and resolution risk where settlement is a mechanism, not a given
What you bring
- Real money experience pricing and trading options, digitals, or short-dated derivatives in crypto or traditional markets
- Deep derivatives knowledge including volatility surfaces, digital and barrier payoffs, and the greeks you reason through rather than look up
- Microstructure judgment: queue position, adverse selection, latency budgets, and why the correct price is not always the one you post
- Strong applied statistics and probability with the discipline to defend a number you publish
- Backtest hygiene: you know how look-ahead and unrealistic fills creep in, and you distrust good results until they survive replay
- Fluent English
Nice to have
- Prediction market and on-chain settlement mechanics, including oracle and resolution risk understanding
What we offer
- Office location in Sofia, Bulgaria or Milan, Italy with no preference between them
- In-office work, not remote
- A sane on-call rotation shared with the team that owns these systems, as crypto trades around the clock
