Risk Analyst (Hong Kong)

As a Risk Analyst at Maven Securities, you'll focus on market risk management for a technologically advanced proprietary trading organization. Based in our Hong Kong office, you'll join the global Risk team to monitor and control firm-wide risk exposures across derivatives, equities, and debt instruments. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to make an impactful contribution to risk control across the business, working closely with Risk team members and broader teams across trading and support.

What you'll do

• Conduct diligent, real-time risk monitoring across proprietary trading and options market-making strategies
• Communicate daily on risk issues and requirements with the Risk team, the Chief Risk Officer, and stakeholders across trading and support functions
• Monitor market risk for multi-strategy portfolios, including listed options algorithmic trading, interest rates, credit, and commodities
• Collaborate with technologists and the broader Risk team to enhance algorithmic trading controls
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of risk monitoring and reporting frameworks, working with the Risk team and broader business teams
• Support operational risk monitoring and participate in risk mitigation workstreams
• Work with the global Risk team to deliver risk-focused project workstreams
• Engage directly with trading teams across the APAC region and broader trading locations to ensure effective communication

What you bring

• 1-3 years of relevant experience working in proprietary trading or at a buy-side financial institution
• Core expertise in equity-focused strategies and fixed income derivatives, with options experience beneficial
• Working knowledge of and interest in broader trading strategies and asset classes such as convertible bonds
• An advanced qualification in a quantitative field such as finance or a STEM-related subject
• Exceptional report writing, presentation, and communication skills
• A demonstrable understanding of AI and its real-world workplace applications
• Basic knowledge of a programming language such as Python to support productivity
• A calm, considered approach, particularly when working under pressure
