Risk Payment Specialist - Mandarin Speaking (HK Digital Asset & Crypto, WFH))

Join ConnectOS as a Risk Payment Specialist on our risk management team. You will identify fraud and risk patterns across card-based payment flows, design and optimize risk control strategies, and investigate suspicious activities to protect the business and its customers. You'll work closely with product, engineering, compliance, banking partners, and card networks to ensure a secure and compliant payment ecosystem. The ideal candidate has experience in payment risk, fraud prevention, or financial crime operations within crypto exchanges, Web3 payment platforms, cross-border payments, or payment anti-fraud environments, with strong data analysis skills, deep understanding of card payment risks, and fluency in Mandarin and English.

What you'll do

• Analyze transaction and user behavior data to identify risk patterns in card-based deposit and withdrawal flows, including fraud, cash-out abuse, stolen card and card-not-present (CNP) fraud, and malicious chargebacks, and produce risk analysis reports
• Independently design, deploy, and tune risk control strategies such as blacklists, whitelists, rule engines, and risk scoring, covering application-level anti-fraud, transaction-level anti-fraud, and account risk monitoring
• Conduct in-depth analysis of suspicious transactions and organized fraud rings, and translate findings into playbooks that feed back into strategy improvements
• Continuously monitor core metrics such as strategy hit rate, false-positive rate, and fraud loss rate, with regular reviews and iteration
• Work closely with product, engineering, compliance, customer support, banks, and card networks to drive risk issues through to resolution

What you bring

• 3-5 years of relevant risk control experience, with hands-on experience in at least one of the following: crypto exchanges, Web3 payment platforms, cross-border payment platforms, or payment anti-fraud platforms
• Familiarity with risk points across the card deposit and withdrawal chain, including 3DS, chargebacks, cash-out abuse, stolen and CNP fraud
• Familiarity with risk control logic for prepaid and virtual card issuance, including application anti-fraud, transaction monitoring, and money laundering detection
• Ability to independently design and implement risk strategies, with a quantitative mindset around measuring strategy effectiveness
• Data-sensitive with clear logical thinking and the ability to spot risk patterns within large datasets
• Self-driven and able to independently push issues to resolution
• Resilient under pressure and able to respond to sudden risk events
• Proficiency in SQL with the ability to independently extract and analyze data
• Fluency in both Mandarin and English, spoken and written

Nice to have

• Experience with Python and/or BI tools such as Tableau or Metabase
• Experience applying risk models or machine learning
• Familiarity with major card network rules such as Visa VAMP and Mastercard Excessive Chargeback Program
• Knowledge of overseas regulatory frameworks such as MSB, MiCA, and VASP
