Risk Product Analyst

As a Risk Product Analyst at DRW, you work directly with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Quantitative Researchers across multiple trading desks and asset classes. The role sits at the intersection of trading, risk, and technology, where you identify problems affecting internal risk and valuation systems, diagnose them by tracing the cause into back-end services and infrastructure, and resolve them quickly and effectively.

What you'll do

• Partner directly with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Quantitative Researchers across rates, FX, commodities, equities, and crypto asset classes as their primary point of contact for issues affecting risk and valuation
• Diagnose and resolve issues affecting next-generation risk and valuation systems by investigating the full technology stack: applications, APIs, databases, messaging systems, and underlying services
• Monitor system and trading issues and prioritize incidents based on their potential impact to trading, portfolio management, and P&L
• Identify the appropriate engineering, quantitative, or infrastructure team when an issue cannot be resolved directly, and escalate with a clear, reproducible diagnosis
• Work closely with Engineering and Product Management teams to identify recurring problems and drive strategic technology solutions
• Develop tools and scripts in Python to automate diagnostics, investigate issues, analyze data, and improve workflows
• Build a strong understanding of the firm's trading and risk infrastructure and the dependencies between systems and underlying services

What you bring

• Deep knowledge of financial products (cash instruments, futures, swaps, options) and markets, backed by strong technical skills
• Previous experience in trade support, trading technology, production support, or a closely related role within a production trading environment supporting multiple desks and/or asset classes
• Ability to write Python and SQL to investigate issues, automate diagnostics, and query and reconcile data across systems
• Familiarity with production diagnostic tooling (log aggregation, dashboards, monitoring, alerting)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to methodically narrow down the source of an issue
• Ability to communicate effectively with a varied audience, including portfolio managers, traders, quantitative researchers, engineers, and product managers

What we offer

• Annual base salary of $175,000 to $250,000 depending on experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set
