Senior AML Specialist, QA

As a Senior AML Specialist, QA at Bybit, you lead quality assurance for the company's Anti-Money Laundering operations. You review AML investigations, transaction monitoring alerts, sanctions screening cases, and suspicious activity reporting across one of the world's leading cryptocurrency exchanges, serving over 80 million users. You work to raise operational standards, identify systemic improvements, and support a team of investigators in delivering compliant, high-quality financial crime prevention.

What you'll do

• Perform quality assurance reviews of AML investigations, transaction monitoring alerts (on-chain and fiat), sanctions screening cases, EDD reviews, and SAR/STR decision-making.
• Assess investigations against internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and quality standards, ensuring decisions are well-supported and appropriately documented.
• Identify recurring trends, root causes, and process weaknesses, providing actionable recommendations to improve quality and consistency.
• Deliver structured feedback and coaching to investigators, supporting ongoing capability development across AML Operations.
• Develop and maintain QA methodologies, scorecards, calibration standards, and review frameworks.
• Conduct calibration sessions with Operations, Compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent interpretation of AML standards.
• Produce regular QA reporting, highlighting key findings, quality trends, remediation progress, and operational risks.
• Support regulatory examinations, internal audits, and independent reviews relating to AML Operations quality.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging data, automation, and AI to enhance QA efficiency and effectiveness.

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience in AML, Financial Crime Compliance, or Financial Crime Operations, with at least 2 years in Quality Assurance or a senior investigation role.
• Strong knowledge of transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, KYC/CDD/EDD, and suspicious activity reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to assess complex investigations and provide objective, risk-based quality reviews.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and sound judgement.
• High integrity with the confidence to challenge poor-quality investigations and maintain independent judgement.
• A passion for raising operational standards through coaching, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with changing regulatory expectations.

Nice to have

• Experience in cryptocurrency transaction monitoring, blockchain investigations, or crypto AML compliance.
• Experience developing QA scorecards, performance metrics, and calibration processes.
• Professional certifications such as CAMS, CFCS, or ICA.
