Senior Android Engineer, Wallet

As a Senior Android Engineer on the Robinhood Wallet team, you'll build and own new product features for the Robinhood Wallet Android app. You'll develop reliable and secure solutions to deliver a high-quality trading experience for cryptocurrencies and tokenized stocks, including perpetual futures, to customers worldwide. The Wallet team's mission is to democratize access to financial services worldwide by leveraging DeFi protocols and Robinhood Chain, building secure, intuitive, and decentralized products that enable users to custody and manage their digital assets.

What you'll do

• Build intuitive, elegant, and stable mobile experiences using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android APIs.
• Lead the full lifecycle of product features from ideation and technical design to implementation, testing, and release.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, product designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to create impactful solutions.
• Champion mobile development standards and code review processes that ensure high quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Mentor other developers and help elevate team standards and collaboration.
• Take lead responsibility for designing scalable mobile architectures and defining code standards.

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional experience developing Android applications.
• Proficiency with Kotlin and/or Java, and a strong grasp of Android SDK and architecture patterns like MVVM.
• Experience using Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and Flow or RxJava, and libraries such as Retrofit and Room.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with a product-focused perspective.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor peers, lead complex projects, and influence architecture decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience working for a DeFi protocol, a crypto wallet company, or another blockchain-related company.
• Familiarity with technologies like EVM blockchains and smart contracts.

• Base pay of $196,000-$230,000 USD (Zone 1: Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC), $172,000-$202,000 USD (Zone 2: Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL), or $153,000-$179,000 USD (Zone 3: Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL), depending on location

This role is based in Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
