Senior Associate Crypto Platform Engineer

As a Senior Associate Crypto Platform Engineer at Scotiabank, you will be a core member of the Crypto Engineering pillar, responsible for providing technology operations support for the deployment of cryptographic security products across the enterprise. You'll collaborate with various business lines, IT support teams, and Information Security & Control functions to ensure the Crypto Security Platform remains secure and resilient.

What you'll do

• Provide technology operations support for the Crypto Security Platform, ensuring platforms remain secure and resilient
• Act as a Level 1 and 2 escalation point, troubleshooting and resolving incidents related to the Crypto Security Platform
• Support operational activities including change request creation, server patching, software currency upgrades, regression testing, and Disaster Backup & Recovery testing
• Lead implementations across production and non-production environments by developing implementation checklists and executing hands-on systems integration for Crypto Platforms, including HSM devices
• Demonstrate personal accountability for assigned projects, initiatives, and daily operations, consistently delivering results with minimal guidance
• Foster a positive work environment with highly motivated individuals focused on reducing risk within the bank
• Provide support for application portfolio management and assist in remediating audit and compliance issues
• Contribute to continuous, iterative improvements across team processes and procedures, while aligning with the bank's risk appetite and risk culture

What you bring

• 3+ years of hands-on technical operations experience in implementation and deployment of complex or large-scale applications, systems, or platforms in an enterprise and financial setting
• Hands-on technical experience in programming languages such as Java, bash, and PowerShell
• Working knowledge of software development lifecycle and tools including JIRA, Bitbucket (Git), and Confluence
• Working knowledge and experience in crypto engineering and platforms, key management practices, and other information security domains
• Working knowledge of business analysis technology such as PowerBI and Excel
• Excellent communication (verbal, written, and presentation), negotiating, and interpersonal skills

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
• Security accreditations
• Cloud security experience with GCP or Azure
• Container knowledge such as Kubernetes
