Senior Backend Development Engineer

As a Senior Backend Development Engineer at Bybit, you own the design, development, and maintenance of wealth management backend systems as a Module Owner. You'll work with Golang to build financial business modules, design technical solutions for complex requirements, and contribute to a platform serving over 80 million users across more than 200 countries and regions.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain financial business backend functional modules using Golang as a Module Owner
• Independently design technical solutions for business requirements, participate in system architecture discussions, and tackle complex tasks under guidance
• Design database table structures in MySQL, author SQL queries, and optimise performance to ensure system stability and data consistency
• Use middleware such as Redis and Kafka to formulate caching strategies and handle asynchronous messaging to enhance system performance and user experience
• Participate in system monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting to maintain online service stability
• Write high-quality technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with the team to drive engineering quality improvements

What you bring

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 3 years or above of backend development experience
• A solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, OS principles (processes, threads, memory management), and computer networking (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language among Golang, C++, Java, or Rust, with strong coding fundamentals and good coding practices
• Familiarity with MySQL including index optimisation, transaction isolation levels, and slow query analysis
• Familiarity with Redis cache design and solutions to common issues such as cache penetration and cache avalanche
• Knowledge of message queue use cases and underlying principles (Kafka or RocketMQ), understanding of RPC frameworks (gRPC or Thrift), and microservice governance
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems, capable of routine operations and troubleshooting
• Proficiency in Git for version control and understanding of CI/CD processes

Nice to have

• Experience in financial or wealth management business development
• Experience in distributed system design, with understanding of distributed transactions, consistency, and related solutions
• Development experience in blockchain-related projects
• Proficiency in AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT for AI-assisted coding, refactoring, unit test generation, and debugging
• A personal technical blog, open-source GitHub projects, or active contributions in technical communities
