Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Sardine, you play a pivotal role in designing, constructing, and maintaining APIs, services, and systems across the engineering team. You develop new features at scale, refine internal tooling and processes, and contribute to product and technical roadmaps. What you'll do

• Design, create, and maintain robust, efficient, and reliable backend services to meet the platform's evolving needs
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to architect and implement new services from inception to delivery
• Contribute to developing new features and capabilities that deliver substantial value to customers
• Work with various engineering and product teams to synchronize efforts and deliver cutting-edge solutions
• Craft and maintain user-facing technical documentation to enhance user understanding and facilitate adoption of services
• Play a pivotal role in shaping the company's engineering culture and ensuring high engineering standards across the organization

What you bring

• 7+ years of proven experience as a Software Engineer specializing in web backend development
• A track record of successfully delivering high-quality production services and systems
• A customer-centric approach with strong empathy towards users
• Proficiency in English, from casual conversations to formal reports
• Relevant industry experience, particularly in banking or fintech, with domain knowledge in fraud prevention or compliance

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Golang
• Additional experience in data engineering
