As a Senior C#.NET Developer at Cryptonow, you own the architecture and business logic behind critical parts of our brokerage platform and voucher card systems. You work closely with product, compliance, and other engineers to translate complex financial and regulatory requirements into robust, maintainable C#.NET systems. Cryptonow holds the MiCAR licence from the FMA, ensuring compliance with the highest EU regulatory standards, and you'll build software where AI accelerates development but your seniority ensures code quality and business-logic accuracy that AI tools routinely miss.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain C#.NET applications and services powering the brokerage platform and voucher card systems.
- Translate complex business and regulatory requirements (MiCAR, financial transaction flows, partner integrations) into clear technical designs.
- Use AI coding tools to accelerate development while owning code quality, architecture decisions, and edge-case handling that AI tools routinely miss.
- Review and critically evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, and business-logic accuracy before it ships.
- Architect and maintain integrations with external partners, payment providers, and blockchain/crypto infrastructure.
- Identify performance bottlenecks, security risks, and scalability issues, and design solutions proactively.
- Mentor other developers on both technical best practices and effective, responsible use of AI tooling.
- Collaborate closely with product owners and compliance stakeholders to ensure systems meet EU regulatory standards.
- Write and maintain clean, well-documented, testable code and champion good engineering practices across the team.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning.
What you bring
- 5+ years of professional experience in C#.NET development (ASP.NET Core, .NET 9/10, Blazor), with a strong grasp of OOP and clean architecture principles.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining complex, business-critical systems, not just CRUD apps.
- Solid understanding of databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar), API design (REST), and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
- Comfort using AI coding assistants daily, with the seniority to know when to trust them and when to override them.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to deeply understand business logic, not just implement tickets.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English required; German is a plus.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Vienna or Baar; open to occasional travel between offices.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning decisions in a fast-moving environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with fintech, payments, or crypto/blockchain systems.
- Familiarity with security best practices and regulatory considerations in financial software.
What we offer
- A key technical role with real ownership over architecture and product direction, not just a seat in a ticket queue.
- Work from the Vienna or Baar office, both based in vibrant, well-connected fintech and crypto hubs.
- Modern engineering culture where AI tools are embraced to remove grunt work, freeing you to focus on interesting, high-value problems.
- The opportunity to work on cutting-edge crypto and fintech infrastructure at a licensed, regulated, EU-compliant company.
- A collaborative, low-ego team that values judgment and craftsmanship over just shipping fast.
- Competitive compensation and opportunities for professional growth.
- Flexible/hybrid working arrangements.
