Senior Compliance Monitoring and Testing Officer

As a Senior Compliance Monitoring and Testing Officer at Bitvavo, you will be an integral part of the Compliance department, helping to maintain the highest standards of regulatory compliance and ethical conduct across all business operations. You will assist with the design, implementation and oversight of Bitvavo's risk-based compliance monitoring and testing programme based on EU regulatory requirements, while also providing guidance and coaching to other compliance officers on the team.

What you'll do

  • Assist the Compliance Manager to design and implement improvements to the compliance monitoring and testing programme, including identifying and clearly communicating its objectives, scope, and the local risks, laws, regulations and commitments it will address
  • Design or update compliance risk assessment processes to identify key risks and activities, assess suitable monitoring or testing approaches, tools and methodologies for each programme element, and implement an operating model for business-as-usual execution
  • Lead and take ownership of the execution and implementation of the annual compliance monitoring and testing plan, review associated policies as part of the compliance review plan, and suggest and implement improved controls, tooling or systems as needed
  • Conduct periodic reviews of policies based on the Policies Management Framework and policies review plan across Bitvavo, write compliance reports communicating findings to stakeholders, and assist in implementing a clear reporting methodology and framework for efficient issue escalation

What you bring

  • A university degree in Law or a similar relevant study
  • 5 years of experience in a Compliance or Risk-related business function
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with compliance testing, monitoring and audit programmes
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial services regulations such as MiFID II, MiCAR, Electronic Money directives, or Payment directives
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal, including excellent report writing and policy drafting capabilities
  • Ability to execute multi-functional and cross-organisational assignments within Bitvavo Group that require in-depth compliance knowledge

Nice to have

  • Experience in a Regulated Exchange, MTF (Multilateral Trading Facility), or CASP (Crypto Asset Service Provider)
