Senior Game Developer

As a Senior Game Developer at Blockville, you join the development team to plan and implement game functionality for a major ongoing project that bridges gaming and NFT technologies. You'll build game code, identify bottlenecks, develop patches, and ensure the finished product meets high industry standards.

What you'll do

• Work directly with the development team lead and senior developers to deliver expected results
• Meet with the design team to discuss gaming ideas and specifications
• Participate in the full development cycle for the major ongoing game project
• Transform design ideas into functional game-plays
• Plan and implement gaming systems, identifying and fixing code issues and game bottlenecks
• Consider theme dynamics and game consistency in your implementations
• Ensure results conform to high industry standards

What you bring

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a similar field
• Excellent programming skills
• Absolute passion for playing and making games
• Experience with at least one major cloud service provider such as AWS Amplify, Firebase, PlayFab, or Unity Cloud Services
• Experience using version control systems
• Proven experience across multiple Unity project types including performance optimization, lighting, shader writing, authentication, data storage, user progress management, and multi-platform development on iOS, Android, WebGL, and Standalone
• A proven track record of being part of published and stable games
• Proven experience creating 2D and 3D games in Unity
• Familiarity with Scrum and Agile development methodologies
• Experience using the Unity profiler to inspect issues and performance
• Deep understanding of game design, system design, game balancing, and game economies
• Experience in memory and space optimization
