Senior Internal Auditor – DACH & Regulatory Assurance

As a Senior Internal Auditor at Bitpanda, you will design and execute internal audits across core operational, financial, and regulatory processes in the DACH region, working closely with business leaders to strengthen the control environment. You will act as an advisor to product, compliance, and engineering teams, offering early audit insights to ensure new products and features launch safely, securely, and in full compliance with European financial regulations.

What you'll do

• Lead and support end-to-end internal audits across group entities in the DACH region, helping transition outsourced audit programs into structured in-house operations
• Test the design and operational effectiveness of key internal controls across operational, financial, and compliance domains, including AML, sanctions, and regulatory processes
• Partner with 1st and 2nd lines of defense such as Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Product to address audit findings, track remediation plans, and enhance overall control health
• Provide pre-implementation audit feedback during product development initiatives to ensure regulatory and security considerations are embedded before launch
• Support the Group Internal Audit Manager in refining audit methodologies, developing risk-based audit plans, and leveraging data analytics to streamline manual testing

What you bring

• 3+ years of audit experience gained within Big 4, professional services, banking, fintech, or financial services
• Practical understanding of key EU and DACH financial regulations such as AML/CTF, MiCAR, MiFID II, PSD2, or GDPR
• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Law, or a related field
• Professional proficiency in German and English, capable of reviewing regulatory documentation and holding discussions

Nice to have

• A relevant professional certification achieved or in progress, such as CIA, CAMS, CISA, or CPA
