Senior Legal Counsel

As Senior Legal Counsel at TRON DAO, you serve as a trusted legal advisor to business and functional teams, managing litigation, contracts, compliance, and regulatory matters across a Web 3.0 organization operating at global scale.

What you'll do

• Act as a trusted legal advisor to the business and functional teams, supporting management on legal matters that impact the company and facilitating informed decision-making
• Own litigation, disputes and claims from pre-action stage through to resolution, including instructing and managing external counsel on case strategy, budgets and timelines
• Handle regulatory inquiries and investigations, oversee evidence preservation and document production, assess the company's exposure, and recommend settlement or defence strategies
• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of contracts and agreements to ensure they reflect the company's interests and comply with applicable legal standards
• Work with the compliance department to develop and implement policies and procedures that keep business activities compliant across relevant jurisdictions
• Identify potential legal risks to the organisation and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them before they escalate
• Support management of the company's intellectual property portfolio, including protection of trademarks, patents and copyrights, and help develop strategies to safeguard these assets
• Keep abreast of regulatory changes affecting the industry and our business, and provide timely updates and practical advice on their potential impact
• Provide guidance to junior counsel and legal assistants, and contribute to building the capability and standards of the in-house legal team

What you bring

• Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or another common law jurisdiction, with a minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience
• Good working knowledge of the Hong Kong regulatory environment
• A solid track record in corporate and commercial law, with hands-on experience in litigation, dispute resolution and management of external counsel
• Experience handling a range of commercial matters from start to finish, with the ability to take ownership of matters independently
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently and handle multiple projects across functional teams
• Superior legal drafting and interpretation capabilities
• Exceptional proficiency in both written and spoken English

Nice to have

• Qualification or regulatory experience in other jurisdictions such as the US, Singapore or the UK
• Previous experience in the financial industry, fintech or Web 3.0
• Experience guiding or mentoring junior team members
• Good fluency in Mandarin
