Senior Node.js Software Engineer - Holepunch (100% Remote, Worldwide)

As a Senior Node.js Software Engineer at Tether, you will develop and maintain our P2P stack and expand our ecosystem, which includes over 1500 public npm modules and a robust, modular codebase. You join a globally distributed team working on peer-to-peer and distributed systems that power Tether's suite of products, from USDT stablecoin infrastructure to KEET, our flagship secure data-sharing app.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain the P2P stack that underpins Tether's ecosystem
• Expand and improve the ecosystem of over 1500 public npm modules
• Write modular, maintainable code across production-scale Node.js applications
• Create and manage reusable npm modules
• Design, test, and debug robust distributed systems

What you bring

• Proven experience developing production-scale applications in Node.js
• Strong competency in writing modular, maintainable code
• Experience creating and managing reusable npm modules
• Solid skillset in testing and debugging
• Deep interest in or hands-on experience with P2P technologies or distributed systems
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, globally distributed team with strong communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience with native Node.js extensions written in C or C++, or binding JavaScript to lower-level code
• Demonstrated ability to optimize network protocols or systems for latency, throughput, and performance
• Familiarity with advanced networking concepts
• Past contributions to open-source projects, especially in P2P or decentralized technologies
