Senior Platform Engineer

As a Senior Platform Engineer at Bitvavo, you join a team committed to fostering autonomy across engineering by providing paved paths for building robust, secure, compliant and scalable systems. Bitvavo is a leading digital assets exchange in Europe with over one million users, and system scalability, performance and engineering productivity are central to everything the platform domain does.

What you'll do

• Empower teams to build scalable systems with strict requirements on latency, availability, and throughput
• Partner with engineering teams to understand their pain points and work backward to craft the right solution
• Enable teams to fully own their systems by providing them with the capabilities to seamlessly deploy and closely observe their applications
• Leverage infrastructure as code and automation to build reproducible systems that are consistent across multiple environments
• Support your teammates in growing every day by providing constructive feedback, guidance, and sharing knowledge

What you bring

• Experience with one or more programming languages, preferably Python, Kotlin or Go
• A solid understanding of distributed systems, systems engineering and networking fundamentals
• Fluency in infrastructure as code and automation tools such as Terraform
• Proficiency in container orchestration within a cloud-first environment, using Kubernetes
• Exceptional communication skills to talk with various stakeholders, derive requirements, and drive discussions effectively
• An extraordinary sense of ownership and commitment to working with freedom and accountability
