Senior Product Manager - Risk

As a Senior Product Manager - Risk at FalconX, you own the product vision and strategy for the Risk platform as the company expands into DeFi integrations, onboards institutional crypto clients, and introduces new asset classes and structured products. You lead 0-to-1 product development such as building multi-stress testing frameworks across different assets while scaling foundational systems, applying traditional finance risk principles to a modern, 24/7 real-time crypto market environment.

What you'll do

• Own the Risk roadmap, balancing the scaling of existing systems with the creation of entirely new 0-to-1 features
• Write comprehensive specs, PRDs, and business statements, translating complex risk, mathematical, and traditional finance concepts into clear, actionable technical requirements
• Work closely with engineers and key stakeholders across Risk and Product leadership to ensure real-time systems are robust, responsive, and secure
• Independently leverage SQL to write queries, manipulate datasets, and build rapid dashboards; monitor portfolio Greeks and establish views tailored for risk and portfolio managers
• Conceptualize and integrate new order types, asset classes, and complex OTC derivatives into the core risk framework using strong first-principles thinking

What you bring

• 8-12 years of overall professional experience with core product management experience in trading, crypto, tech, fintech, or financial services
• 2-5 years of direct experience in the risk space, with deep understanding of derivatives, structured products (OTC, TRS), and how portfolio managers assess risk limits and Greeks
• Strong SQL skills as a hard requirement; technical proficiency to understand APIs and work seamlessly with engineers, though you do not need to write code or design distributed systems
• Professional or active personal trading experience in cryptocurrency or other asset classes, with deep understanding of trading market structures
• Proven experience building institutional-grade trading tools and services
• Exceptional ability to write specs, create roadmaps, and align product and engineering teams, with deep industry knowledge and strong cultural fit for a high-growth environment
