Senior QA Engineer - WiFi

As a Senior QA Engineer - WiFi at Plume, you will ensure that our WiFi-enabled smart home and enterprise platform meets the highest quality standards for over 60 million locations globally. You'll join our QA team to design and execute comprehensive test strategies, develop automation frameworks, and collaborate with software and firmware engineers to deliver reliable, high-performance connected experiences.

What you'll do

• Design, document, and execute test plans for WiFi connectivity, performance, stability, and functionality.
• Develop and maintain Python-based test automation to improve coverage and reduce regression cycles.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing across WiFi, networking, and embedded platforms.
• Test and troubleshoot 802.11 protocols, Layer 2/3 networking, routing, VLAN, NAT, DNS, and DHCP.
• Reproduce, debug, and root-cause complex field and system-level defects.
• Use tools such as Wireshark for packet analysis and network troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with software, firmware, and QA teams to define test strategies and deliver high-quality products.
• Participate in feature and design discussions and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.

What you bring

• 3–5 years of experience in QA, SDET, or Software Test Engineering, preferably in WiFi, networking, or IoT.
• Strong understanding of WiFi (802.11) and networking fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with embedded and router platforms and hardware test environments.
• Strong Python scripting and test automation skills.
• Experience with Wireshark and network troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of TR-369/USP, TR-181, TR-069/TR-098.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with RDK-B, prplOS, OpenWrt, or similar Linux-based router platforms.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Postman, or similar QA and CI tools.
