Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer

As a Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer at Bitvavo, you will be an integral part of the Compliance team, helping design, implement and oversee Bitvavo's risk-based compliance programme based on EU regulatory requirements. You will advise internal stakeholders on compliance matters, draft and review policies and procedures aligned with regulations, and assess the impact of upcoming regulatory changes on the business.

What you'll do

• Review and maintain policies and procedures in line with the Compliance programme
• Monitor and analyse regulatory developments in areas including MiCA, EMD II, DORA and the AMLDs, and conduct regulatory impact assessments with clear business requirements
• Participate in and contribute to business development projects, New Products and Activities (PARP) and crypto assets admission in the exchange
• Identify and address compliance-related risks including regulatory, money laundering, terrorist financing and sanctions exposure
• Ensure adequate monitoring and control testing is conducted on internal processes for compliance matters
• Coordinate the yearly Enterprise Risk Assessment and Systematic Integrity Risk Analysis (SIRA) alongside the Risk department
• Manage the data protection framework of Bitvavo in collaboration with the external Data Protection Officer
• Provide training across the organisation on ethics, integrity, compliance and financial crimes

What you bring

• 5 years of experience in compliance-related business functions
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial services regulations including MiFID II, MiCA, Electronic Money directives or Payment Services directives
• Excellent report-writing and policy-drafting capabilities
• Ability to execute multi-functional and cross-organisational assignments requiring in-depth compliance analysis
• Ability to operate well under pressure
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to accuracy and integrity
• Keen interest in digital currencies or related work experience

Nice to have

• Experience in a regulated exchange, electronic money institution, crypto service provider or payment institution
