Senior Research Engineer (Based in Hong Kong)

Flow Traders seeks a Senior Research Engineer to join its Hong Kong office and lead the development of a trading model research framework. As a Senior Research Engineer, you will help shape the global standard for training, consuming, combining, and transforming data sources in a systematic, data-driven way. You'll partner with Quantitative Researchers to build trading models and conduct research to develop models for production.

What you'll do

• Lead the development and global rollout of the research framework for defining and training models through various optimization procedures including supervised learning and backtesting, and integrate it with the platform for deploying and running models in production
• Partner with Quantitative Researchers to conduct research, test hypotheses, and tune and develop data-driven systematic trading strategies and alpha signals

What you bring

• An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Machine Learning, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or a similar field
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in MLOps, Research Engineering, or ML Research
• A strong background in mathematics and statistics
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with libraries such as NumPy, PyTorch, Polars, Pandas, and Ray
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing end-to-end machine learning pipelines, including data preprocessing, model training, deployment, and monitoring
• Understanding of and experience with modern software development practices and tools such as Agile, version control, automated testing, CI/CD, and observability
• Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
