Senior Research Fellow on Web 3.0 and AI

As a Senior Research Fellow in Web 3.0 and AI at the University of Southampton, you will undertake independent, internationally excellent research in metaverse, artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies and related areas. You join the Department of Decision Analytics and Risk at Southampton Business School and contribute to the Blockchain and Supply Chain Research Group (BSCRG), developing an interdisciplinary academic-industry research ecosystem.

What you'll do

• Develop and deliver rigorous, original research in metaverse, artificial intelligence, Web 3.0 and blockchain technologies
• Produce high-quality academic outputs and identify new research and funding opportunities
• Collaborate with academics, industry partners and other stakeholders
• Contribute to the development of BSCRG through supervision and support of postgraduate researchers and research assistants
• Engage with the Group's research, education and knowledge-exchange activities

What you bring

• Substantial knowledge and experience relevant to metaverse and AI, normally supported by relevant professional experience and/or a postgraduate qualification such as a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Economics, Finance or another relevant discipline
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both academic colleagues and industry executives
• Expertise in one or more of the following: artificial intelligence and AI-generated content (AIGC), metaverse and Web 3.0, blockchain technologies and applications, tokenomics and digital business models, smart contracts, crypto-assets and NFTs, economics of digitisation and the digital economy, or AI and blockchain applications in business and supply chains

• Experience of AI or blockchain coding
