As a Senior Rust Engineer in our Capital Markets division at Keyrock, you own high-impact trading infrastructure and set technical direction for mission-critical trading systems. You join a profitable, fully-remote engineering team, working with quants, traders, and engineers across European time zones to design and operate low-latency systems that power our market-making and high-frequency trading operations.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and optimise low-latency, mission-critical trading systems
- Own key trading stack components end-to-end, from architecture through to production operation
- Collaborate closely with quants, traders, and engineers to deliver solutions that improve trading performance and resilience
- Maintain and evolve trading infrastructure with a focus on performance, stability, observability, and operational excellence
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across exchange connectivity, execution, and market data handling
- Drive engineering standards through technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring
- Leverage AI-assisted workflows and agentic engineering principles to automate operational tasks and evolve the team's tooling
- Contribute to functional, component, and production-readiness testing for critical trading components
What you bring
- Production-grade Rust experience building high-performance, concurrent systems, with proficiency in Tokio
- Hands-on experience in systematic trading environments (HFT, market making, quantitative trading, or similar), with solid understanding of execution, market data, and operational risk
- Strong AWS and Linux expertise, including cloud infrastructure trade-offs for latency-sensitive workloads, shell scripting, debugging, and production troubleshooting
- Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for strategy development, automation, and operational tooling
- Deep familiarity with trading system protocols (FIX, REST, WebSocket), exchange connectivity, and market data feeds
- Solid grasp of low-latency networking: TCP/UDP, packet and latency path analysis, dedicated network infrastructure, and kernel bypass techniques such as DPDK
- Familiarity with agentic engineering tools and concepts: LLMs, MCP APIs, AI-first IDEs (such as Cursor and Claude Code), harness engineering, and workflow automation
- Ability to make sound architectural decisions, articulate trade-offs clearly, and guide implementation across complex systems
- Ownership and reliability: take full responsibility for your work, deliver high quality, meet deadlines, and proactively address potential issues
- Initiative and problem-solving: approach challenges with an entrepreneurial mindset, make sound independent judgments, and drive solutions
- Operational diligence: respond strategically to technical and operational challenges, ensuring robust infrastructure
- Technical leadership: influence system design, raise engineering standards, mentor others, and drive pragmatic technical decisions
- Curiosity and growth mindset: continuously improve your technical skills, stay ahead of industry trends, and explore new technologies
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a fully remote global team
