Senior Smart Contract Engineer

As a Senior Smart Contract Engineer at Ironclad Ledger, you design, build, and deploy secure smart contracts on Ethereum and EVM-compatible networks. You work on DeFi, NFT, and cross-chain projects, collaborating with the team to deliver reliable Web3 solutions. This is a remote role available for either full-time or part-time (20+ hours per week) engagement.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and deploy secure, efficient, and well-documented smart contracts on EVM chains such as Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test suites using Foundry or Hardhat to ensure the highest level of contract security and functionality
• Conduct internal security reviews and audits, proactively identifying and mitigating potential attack vectors before features are built
• Perform gas optimization and analysis to ensure cost-effective contract execution
• Document architecture decisions, design patterns, and technical specifications for all developed solutions
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the Web3 ecosystem, including new EIPs, security best practices, and development tools

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional experience shipping Solidity smart contracts to mainnet
• Deep knowledge of EVM internals, storage, and gas mechanics
• Extensive experience with major token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155) and account abstraction (ERC-4337)
• Proven experience with a modern development framework, such as Foundry or Hardhat
• A security-first mindset, with a deep understanding of common smart contract vulnerabilities such as reentrancy, integer overflow, and access control issues
• Demonstrable experience in at least two of the following areas: DeFi protocols (AMMs, lending), token standards, access control, or upgradeable contracts (proxies)
• Hands-on experience using Cursor IDE for development and debugging
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, asynchronous environment

Nice to have

• Experience with Rust or Go
• Knowledge of Layer 2 scaling solutions and cross-chain messaging protocols
• Familiarity with account abstraction (ERC-4337) and its applications
• Experience with zero-knowledge proofs or privacy-preserving technologies
