Senior Software Developer, Backend

As a Senior Software Developer on Robinhood's backend team, you'll build scalable systems that power critical infrastructure enabling reliable, scalable access to financial instrument data across the platform. You'll collaborate across engineering, business, operations, and vendor channels to support product initiatives that drive feature rollouts and expansions across multiple lines of business. The WonderFi team, including Coinsquare and Bitbuy, is now part of Robinhood, giving the company a direct path into the regulated Canadian crypto market. This role is based in Toronto, ON, Canada with hybrid attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you'll do

• Build scalable systems and backend components, balancing stability, performance, and maintainability
• Design, implement, test, and deploy production-ready features with high correctness and low-latency requirements
• Partner with frontend and data teams to refine APIs used by millions of customers
• Mentor junior developers and technically lead complex projects across teams
• Identify and implement improvements for system performance and team workflows

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years designing and building large-scale, distributed, low-latency systems
• Proficiency in highly concurrent backend system development and intuitive API design
• Demonstrated ability to deliver long-term impact on systems or team-wide architecture
• Strong judgment and prioritization skills, with the ability to lead initiatives and mentor peers

What we offer

• Base pay of $166,000-$195,000 CAD
