Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Finance (Flagship Web3 Product)

As a Senior Software Engineer in Embedded Finance at Reap, you'll build the next generation of stablecoin-backed payments, credit, and card services for global businesses. You'll own features end-to-end: from writing the specification and architecting the solution, to shipping and operating it in production. This is a high-ownership role in a product-focused engineering team at a global fintech company backed by leading investors including Acorn Pacific, Index Ventures, and HashKey Capital.

What you'll do

• Own features end-to-end: write the spec, design the solution, build it, and operate it in production
• Design, build, and maintain backend services in Node.js and TypeScript (NestJS or Elysia) for high-performance APIs and async jobs
• Work with AWS cloud-native services (Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, Aurora, S3, CloudWatch) to build scalable, resilient architectures
• Manage data storage and synchronization with Postgres and Aurora
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and security practices
• Collaborate directly with product and business stakeholders with no PM layer
• Leverage AI tools and modern development practices to drive engineering velocity

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience
• Deep expertise with Node.js and TypeScript, including RESTful API design and async job patterns
• Strong product sense and ability to take end-to-end ownership of a feature from idea to production
• Proven hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, SQS, Aurora, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, and others)
• Strong SQL fundamentals and experience with relational databases
• Familiarity with event-driven and serverless architectures
• Clear communication and ability to work autonomously in a fully remote, async team
• Demonstrated use of AI tools to boost development efficiency

Nice to have

• Experience building B2B API-based platforms or infrastructure products
• Background in fintech, payments, or card issuing
• Curiosity about Web3, stablecoins, or the Web2 and Web3 intersection
• Startup experience where you have worn multiple hats
