Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Finance (Flagship Web3 Product)

As a Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Finance at Reap, you'll build the next generation of embedded finance infrastructure powering stablecoin-backed payments, credit, and card services for global businesses. This is a high-ownership role where you design features end-to-end: from writing the specification, to architecting the solution, to shipping and operating it in production.

What you'll do

• Own features end-to-end: write the spec, design the solution, build it, and operate it in production.
• Design, build, and maintain backend services in Node.js and TypeScript using NestJS or Elysia for high-performance APIs and async jobs.
• Work with AWS cloud-native services such as Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, Aurora, S3, and CloudWatch to build scalable, resilient architectures.
• Manage data storage and synchronization using Postgres and Aurora.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and security practices.
• Collaborate directly with product and business stakeholders without intermediaries.
• Leverage AI tools and modern development practices to drive engineering velocity.

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Deep expertise with Node.js and TypeScript, including RESTful API design and async job patterns.
• Strong product sense and ability to take end-to-end ownership of a feature from idea to production.
• Proven hands-on experience with AWS cloud services including Lambda, SQS, Aurora, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager.
• Strong SQL fundamentals and experience with relational databases.
• Familiarity with event-driven and serverless architectures.
• Clear communication and ability to work autonomously in a fully remote, asynchronous team.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools to boost development efficiency.

Nice to have

• Experience building B2B API-based platforms or infrastructure products.
• Background in fintech, payments, or card issuing.
• Curiosity about Web3, stablecoins, or the Web2 to Web3 intersection.
• Startup experience where you've worn multiple hats.
