Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer at Jump Trading, you join Core Development, a global team of technologists who architect, build, and maintain the firm's world-class trading platform. You work on everything from optimizing the core trading engine to building custom hardware, leveraging software and hardware engineering, data science, and research to deliver infrastructure and tools that drive trading and business needs. You bring a strategic mindset, intellectual curiosity, and extensive experience using technology to solve cross-functional business problems.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain Jump's Algorithmic Trading Platforms as part of a collaborative team
• Create and optimize scalable, multi-tiered applications and infrastructure
• Influence the strategic direction of Core Development by using technology to solve business problems
• Partner with engineering, networking, and trading teams across multiple regions to align technical priorities with business objectives

What you bring

• At least 3-4 years of experience building platforms and solving business challenges
• Strong programming skills using C++ or Python on large distributed systems
• A strong understanding of computer systems, including operating systems, networks, and performance optimization
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and maturity in tackling complex problems across cross-functional teams, technology, and processes
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative attitude
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Reliable and predictable availability
