Smart Contract Engineer / Solidity Expert (IT) / Freelance

RIDCHA DATA is seeking a Smart Contract Engineer / Solidity Expert for a strategic project to build an institutional digital assets platform. You will design and develop secure, scalable blockchain architecture that meets stringent financial-sector requirements, covering the full lifecycle of digital assets from issuance and tokenisation through to settlement and delivery in a highly regulated, security-conscious environment.

What you'll do

• Design and develop advanced smart contracts in Solidity on EVM
• Design secure, modular, scalable and maintainable on-chain architectures
• Implement ERC-20 standards and their institutional extensions including roles, pausability, mint/burn, and compliance hooks
• Design and manage the smart contract lifecycle: deployment, upgrade patterns, migrations and controlled migration scripts
• Participate in designing technical governance mechanisms suited to an institutional environment
• Establish advanced testing strategies including property-based testing, invariant testing and fuzzing
• Ensure code quality and security through code reviews, threat modeling and security audits
• Identify and mitigate smart contract and EVM-specific vulnerabilities
• Optimise performance and gas consumption within production constraints
• Design interactions between on-chain and off-chain components: backend, APIs, wallets, oracles, identity and access management
• Participate in technical design of financial asset tokenisation mechanisms and settlement / Delivery versus Payment (DvP)
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines dedicated to smart contracts with automated testing, quality controls and reproducible, controlled deployments
• Document architecture decisions, security mechanisms and complex technical choices
• Collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, Security, Legal and Compliance teams
• Contribute to balancing technological innovation against security requirements, auditability and regulatory constraints

What you bring

• Significant experience developing smart contracts in EVM environments, ideally on high-stakes security projects or in institutional contexts
• Expert-level Solidity proficiency
• Deep understanding of EVM: execution model, storage, memory, gas, inter-contract calls, reentrancy and related concepts
• Ability to design secure and modular on-chain architectures
• Hands-on experience with Hardhat, Foundry, Truffle or equivalent frameworks
• Advanced testing expertise: fuzzing, invariants, property-based testing
• Smart contract audit and security review capabilities
• Threat modeling and the ability to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
• Experience in permissioned / institutional blockchain environments

Nice to have

• Experience with other blockchain stacks: Rust / Substrate, Move, etc.
• Applied cryptography knowledge: hashing, signatures, Merkle trees
• General understanding of Zero-Knowledge technologies
• Experience tokenising financial assets
• Knowledge of Delivery versus Payment (DvP) models
• Experience implementing compliance mechanisms directly in smart contracts
• Mastery of DevSecOps / CI-CD practices applied to blockchain
• Experience working in highly regulated environments
