Software Engineer - Blockchain & Digital Asset

Join a team dedicated to Digital Asset and Tokenization projects at Intesa Sanpaolo, where you'll work on solutions for issuance, custody, and settlement of tokenized assets. You'll develop on DLT platforms, custody systems, and smart contracts on Ethereum and Polygon, contributing to the design and evolution of innovative solutions. You'll deepen your knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as MiCAR, DORA, and the DLT Pilot Regime while collaborating with Risk, Compliance, and Architecture teams.

What you'll do

• Design and implement software applications for Digital Asset platforms using Java and/or Python, with components for interacting with DLT networks (nodes, smart contracts, wallets)
• Independently analyze the flows of issuance, custody, and settlement of tokenized assets to identify technical and process bottlenecks
• Assess the technical and economic feasibility of custody and tokenization solutions, including Omnibus Wallet, asset segregation, and key management approaches
• Design specifications for applications supporting Travel Rule, KYC/AML, and on-chain monitoring tools such as Chainalysis and Notabene
• Formalize proposals for evolving the architecture of Digital Asset platforms in alignment with MiCAR and DORA
• Support code reviews, security standards (smart contract audits), and development best practices across the team

What you bring

• At least 3 years of software development experience
• A degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or computer engineering
• Advanced proficiency in English and Office 365 tools
• Advanced knowledge of Java (Spring) and/or Python, with hands-on experience integrating blockchain networks
• Knowledge of DLT/Blockchain technologies including Ethereum, Polygon, and permissioned networks, with understanding of mechanisms such as account abstraction, gas fees, and custody models
• Knowledge of smart contracts in Solidity or equivalent, including audit and security best practices
• Familiarity with regulatory principles of MiCAR, DLT Pilot Regime, and DORA as applied to IT systems
• Knowledge of Git, event-driven systems (Kafka, Nifi, Flink), SQL/NoSQL databases, and GCP
• Experience with Agile tools (JIRA) and mentoring capability for junior profiles
