As a Software Engineer on DRW's Cumberland/Options Front Office Systems team, you will work directly with trading desks to turn alpha signals, risk management tools, and market visualizations into scalable, performant production systems. You operate in two interconnected modes: embedded deployments on trading desks solving urgent, high-impact problems, and back-office work extracting reusable patterns to benefit all desks. You collaborate closely with Data Engineering, Research Engineering, and Execution Engineering to serve traders working in options and fixed income markets.
What you'll do
- Work with best-in-class trading tools for Cumberland and FICC options trading desks
- Take full ownership of products you create, from prototype through stable production
- Embed with trading desks to learn their problem spaces, extract domain models, and build ergonomic, performant and extendable engineering solutions
- Build, maintain and extend the central trading platform
- Work with both greenfield and legacy systems across multiple languages including C++, Python and Typescript
- Provide on-call support as needed
What you bring
- Up to 7 years of experience using C++ and Python, with comfort working across multiple programming languages
- A track record of working directly with end customers to scope and deliver production systems in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- Ability to dive deep into complex problems, develop intuitive understandings, spot risks early and minimize complexity
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, communicating clearly with stakeholders and engineers to foster a collaborative, supportive environment
- Experience in financial markets, especially in delta one store of value and/or FICC options trading
- Experience with Linux-based, concurrent, high-throughput, low-latency software systems
- A Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent work experience

- Experience with functional programming
What we offer
- Annual base salary of $175,000 to $225,000 depending on experience, qualifications and relevant skill set
