Software Engineer II, Platform

As a Software Engineer II, Platform at Ripple, you will play a critical role helping to advance the company's production infrastructure and release pipelines. Infrastructure Engineers at Ripple are a hybrid of systems and software engineers who support the design and lifecycle of hosted products. You will work closely with product engineers to support their infrastructure needs, ideally in a self-service environment.

What you'll do

• Contribute to platform features across compute, authentication, service discovery, observability, and redundancy
• Implement architectural solutions under the guidance of senior engineers, with a growing awareness of tradeoffs between scale, cost, and maintenance
• Support and mentor junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing
• Help deploy and maintain Ripple's multi-region, multi-provider service platforms with a focus on security and reliability
• Build and improve tooling for automation, monitoring, and instrumentation to reduce operational friction
• Contribute to platform and application lifecycle services, working toward automated, data-driven workflows
• Participate in discussions around scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions
• Learn and apply DevOps and GitOps principles in your day-to-day work

What you bring

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• 3-6 years of relevant work experience with a development background in Go, Python, or Java, and a solid understanding of software engineering best practices and system design
• Hands-on experience with cloud providers like AWS
• Working knowledge of orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Rancher, and containerization technologies for deploying and managing distributed services
• Experience contributing to deployment pipelines using common CI/CD tools
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Exposure to observability platforms leveraging Prometheus and OpenTelemetry, with an interest in building instrumentation patterns and monitoring SLOs/SLIs
• A collaborative approach to teamwork with a customer service orientation and willingness to build relationships across teams and cultures
• Strong communication skills in writing, verbal, and interpersonal contexts
