Software Engineer, Wallet

As a Software Engineer on the Robinhood Wallet team, you will build and own the backend services, infrastructure, and data systems that support our wallet products. The Robinhood Wallet team's mission is to democratize access to financial services worldwide by leveraging DeFi protocols and Robinhood Chain, enabling users to custody and manage their digital assets. You will develop new features and system enhancements to deliver a highly secure and efficient trading experience for cryptocurrencies and tokenized stocks, including perpetual futures, to customers worldwide.

What you'll do

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable backend services that power Robinhood Wallet.
• Develop product-facing features and platform enhancements that meet strict correctness and scalability standards.
• Identify and implement improvements to system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction.
• Collaborate closely with client teams, product managers, designers, and external vendors to deliver reliable technical solutions.

What you bring

• 2+ years of experience in software development.
• Expertise in backend development using languages such as Go, Python, or Java, with deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures.
• Strong grasp of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Proven ability to simplify complex problems, make sound tradeoffs, and drive alignment across product, engineering, and design teams.
• Strong sense of personal accountability with a track record of delivering successful, end-to-end products and raising team-wide technical standards.

Nice to have

• Experience working for a DeFi protocol, a crypto wallet company, or another blockchain-related company.
• Familiarity with technologies like EVM blockchains and smart contracts.

What we offer

• Base pay range (depends on location): Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC): $166,000-$195,000 USD; Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL): $147,000-$172,000 USD; Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL): $130,000-$152,000 USD. This role is also eligible for bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.
