Software Engineers - Data Platform Team

As a Software Engineer on Wincent's Data Platform team, you'll join a 150+ person team of engineers, traders, and quants focused on high-frequency crypto trading with approximately 1% of global crypto trading volume. You'll work alongside talent from Facebook, Google, Berkeley, Caltech, ETH, and MIT to build infrastructure that powers automated order execution across 10+ crypto exchanges.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with Data Platform Engineers and other teams to improve data accessibility and tooling
• Play a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of data, particularly for core engineering teams
• Explore opportunities to enhance data processing and analysis using cloud technologies, with a preference for AWS

What you bring

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Data engineering expertise including experience with data ingestion, strong coding skills in Scala and Python, Spark proficiency, solid SQL knowledge, and cloud technologies (ideally AWS)
• Experience with BigData analysis and time series databases
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and performance optimization
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, not as an individual contributor, with strong communication skills
• Ownership mindset: you manage your own agenda, solve problems independently, and deliver results
• Cultural alignment: you say things as they are, answer truthfully, leave ego at the door, challenge decisions when you disagree, and commit fully once decisions are final

What we offer

• Base salary starting from €84k per annum for Slovakia, adjusted to your country of residence, with no ceiling for highly specialized and top 0.1% candidates
• Performance bonuses paid twice yearly, typically ranging from €40k to €70k annually depending on your performance and fund performance
• Option to allocate a portion of your monthly salary toward company equity
• Opportunity to invest in the firm's proprietary fund, established in 2017
• Full-time onsite collaboration at one of our offices; remote work negotiable for senior staff
• 25 vacation days plus 12 public holidays annually (approximately 40 days off per year), with unpaid sabbatical leave available upon arrangement
