Staff Product Designer, Financial Services Lead

As a Staff Product Designer and Financial Services Lead at Coinbase, you own design strategy and team leadership for the Loyalty pillar, including Coinbase One (CB1) membership, CB1 Card, and Advocacy. You drive the vision, quality bar, and execution for high-impact consumer products while managing and developing a team of product designers shipping across 3+ product managers and 22+ engineers.

What you'll do

• Lead design strategy and execution across Coinbase One membership, CB1 Card, and the broader Loyalty surface area, spanning multiple product and engineering pods
• Develop a team of product designers (IC4-IC5), providing structured coaching, career development, and regular design crits
• Partner with senior Product and Engineering leads to shape roadmaps, drive alignment, and represent design in leadership forums
• Drive 0-to-1 strategic design work including membership evolution, retention mechanics, and rewards experiences
• Set and maintain a high quality bar across all Loyalty surfaces through structured review processes including design crits, DRRs, and workbench sessions
• Represent Loyalty design in executive-level reviews and cross-functional leadership syncs

What you bring

• 8+ years of product design experience
• Proven track record leading design for subscription, loyalty, or membership products at scale (1M+ users)
• Experience partnering with senior product and engineering leaders to shape strategy, define roadmaps, and influence prioritization
• Demonstrated ability to set systems-level vision while simultaneously shipping high-quality work on weekly or biweekly cadences
• Experience managing individual contributor designers through structured feedback loops, promotion cycles, and measurable career growth outcomes
• Familiarity with consumer fintech, payments, or credit card product design
• Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality
