Staff Software Engineer

As a Staff Software Engineer at Ripple, you design and develop large-scale distributed systems for digital asset infrastructure serving financial institutions. You work independently and collaboratively to build enterprise payment applications that enable instant cross-border settlement, driving down costs and increasing processing speeds across Ripple's distributed financial technology platform.

What you'll do

• Design and develop large-scale distributed systems, both independently and in collaboration with team members
• Build enterprise distributed payment applications that execute settlement within seconds
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and requirements gathering through unit and integration testing
• Build scalable and performant enterprise software with deep understanding of Java and its ecosystem
• Perform test-driven development with high code coverage
• Deploy and manage a continuous integration pipeline
• Work with teams across product, legal, and business development to gather requirements and evaluate technical implications of design decisions

What you bring

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate software development experience, or a Master's degree in Computer Science or related field plus at least 3 years of software development experience
• At least 3 years of experience working as a developer on large-scale distributed systems
• At least 3 years of experience with each of the following (gained concurrently): Java and SpringBoot applications, HTTP technologies, building and testing infrastructure, deployment automation, cloud tools such as AWS or GCP and cloud-based architectures, data warehouse architecture and integration, SQL and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, Oracle, Teradata, and Hadoop, CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab, and Bamboo
• At least 3 years of experience with at least one API/UI test tool or framework such as Postman, SoapUI, REST-assured, or Selenium

• Annual base salary of $193,461-$193,661 USD (for NY-based positions), plus equity and additional compensation such as bonuses
• Telecommuting permitted up to 50% per week within the same geographic location as your assigned office
