Staff/Principal Full Stack Blockchain Engineer

At GroMa, you'll be the primary owner of the onchain tech stack for GromaCoin, a tokenized real estate asset representing fractional ownership in the GroMa Real Estate Trust. You join a small team of 7 senior software engineers as the first full-time blockchain engineering hire, building and deploying smart contracts on EVM networks (Ethereum and Base) that connect to backend and frontend systems. With over $350MM in real estate under management, GromaCoin is already the largest real estate asset on chain.

What you'll do

• Own the design, development, and maintenance of GroMa's onchain smart contracts and blockchain infrastructure
• Deploy and maintain smart contracts in production on Ethereum and Base networks
• Connect smart contracts to backend and frontend interfaces
• Work directly with stakeholders across the business to understand needs and build pragmatic solutions
• Operate across the full technology stack, contributing to backend and frontend development, blockchain infrastructure, and other areas as needed

What you bring

• Significant hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining smart contracts in production on EVM networks
• Expertise in Solidity development
• Familiarity with Python, TypeScript, Django, React, Google Cloud, and Postgres, or the ability to ramp up very quickly on these technologies
• The wisdom to guide the team strategically based on deep experience in blockchain development
• A product mindset and comfort working directly with stakeholders to identify and solve problems
• Technical breadth and willingness to operate across the full technology stack
• A commitment to building reliable, secure, and easily-maintainable systems while moving quickly in a startup environment

Nice to have

• Experience with real-world asset tokenization (RWAs) or real estate
• Familiarity with a variety of token standards
• Experience representing securities with compliance constraints on-chain (for example, ERC-3643)
• Experience building on DeFi protocols like Morpho and Uniswap

Location: This role is full-time, in-office based in Boston, MA. We are building an in-person culture at GroMa's headquarters and believe that in-person collaboration is critical to our success at this stage.
