As a Team Lead, Customer Due Diligence Operations (KYB) at OKX, you lead a team responsible for reviewing customer KYC cases flagged by our onboarding systems for potential money laundering, terrorist financing, Bank Secrecy Act violations, and other AML or fraud-related risks. This is a high-impact role at one of the fastest-growing global cryptocurrency exchanges, requiring prior know-your-customer and sanctions compliance experience.

What you'll do

  • Provide people management and development to your team while ensuring service level standards are met
  • Liaise with the Compliance department and management across business units
  • Oversee new client onboarding and implement process enhancements to improve the customer experience
  • Monitor periodic reviews to ensure regulatory requirements are met
  • Operate with independence and exercise autonomous judgment in decision-making
  • Act as a subject matter expert to stakeholders and other team members
  • Prepare daily and weekly metrics and progress reports
  • Serve as the primary contact point for client questions and internal and external stakeholder inquiries
  • Maintain all legal and customer files and data in accordance with European Regulations and Group policies
  • Investigate potential matches generated by the sanctions screening application and ensure appropriate action is taken, including review of PEPs and adverse media news
  • Provide information to management regarding AML and CDD issues
  • Maintain high quality service standards across customer and internal department inquiries, escalating appropriately
  • Manage specific projects as they arise

What you bring

  • 3+ years of experience in KYC/KYB, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance, or a similar compliance or risk control function in the financial services industry, working across multiple jurisdictions
  • A Bachelor's Degree or relevant equivalent experience or professional qualification
  • Proven people management experience with the ability to see the big picture without losing attention to detail
  • Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English

Nice to have

  • ACAMS or ICA certification or demonstrated knowledge of AML regulations
  • Experience working with teams across global offices and time zones
  • Ability to research, process, and interpret large amounts of information daily and make ethical decisions with integrity
