As a Tech Lead for Real World Assets (RWA) DeFi at MON Co., you own the technical architecture and lead a team of ~5 engineers building a next-generation protocol that brings institutional-grade assets on-chain securely, compliantly, and at scale. This is a hands-on leadership role where you architect, code, review, and ship systems where capital, risk, and code converge.
What you'll do
- Own the end-to-end technical architecture of the RWA protocol across on-chain and off-chain systems
- Lead, mentor, and unblock a team of ~5 engineers
- Set and uphold engineering standards for code quality, security, testing, and documentation
- Make pragmatic build versus buy decisions across protocols, infrastructure, and vendors
- Design and implement production-grade smart contracts for tokenized real-world assets, capital deployment, redemptions, yield distribution, and risk controls including liquidation logic and circuit breakers
- Ensure contracts are audit-ready, secure, and battle-tested, working closely with auditors before mainnet deployments
- Architect off-chain systems supporting asset lifecycle management, oracle ingestion and verification, compliance, reporting, and risk monitoring
- Integrate with wallets, custodians, stablecoins, and on-chain liquidity venues
- Design infrastructure for reliability, observability, and graceful failure
- Partner directly with founders on product direction and technical roadmap
- Translate legal and compliance constraints into robust, enforceable code
- Collaborate with product and design to deliver developer- and user-friendly flows
What you bring
- 7+ years of engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in crypto or DeFi
- Strong hands-on experience with Solidity or equivalent EVM languages
- Deep understanding of DeFi primitives such as lending, AMMs, liquidations, and yield mechanics
- Deep knowledge of smart contract security patterns and common exploits
- Proven experience leading engineers and shipping complex systems
- Comfort operating in ambiguity in a build-from-zero role
Nice to have
- Experience with RWA, TradFi, or fintech systems including credit, payments, and custody
- Familiarity with oracles such as Chainlink-style architectures
- Experience with account abstraction, permissioned DeFi, or compliance-aware protocols
- Experience running or participating in protocol audits
- Background in system design for high-value financial infrastructure
What we offer
- Competitive compensation plus meaningful upside
- Significant ownership and influence over architecture and roadmap
