Tech Ops Engineer (Overnight EST Support 1am -9am)

As a Tech Ops Engineer at AlphaPoint, you support the infrastructure powering digital asset exchanges and brokerages worldwide. You work overnight shifts (1am-9am EST) with rotational on-call responsibilities to ensure system uptime and integrity for over 150 customers across 35 countries.

What you'll do

• Build and architect systems to maintain uptime and integrity of customer systems
• Document technical designs and create training materials and documentation
• Monitor daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems
• Manage installations, upgrades, and maintenance of Linux deployments, virtual environments such as Proxmox, and containerized environments such as Docker
• Work closely with DevOps to implement and scale automation of core tasks
• Ensure protection of data assets by maintaining strict security policies and guidelines
• Test, troubleshoot, and modify information systems so they operate effectively
• Collaborate with TechOps, IT staff, IT Security, and System Administrators

What you bring

• Fluency in English
• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Expert-level system administration for Debian-based distributions
• Expert knowledge of computer networks, hardware, IT support, IT security, and related tools
• Experience with multiple hosting environments such as cloud, bare metal, and VPS
• Experience with various databases and SQL, preferably MySQL
• Strong Linux, Proxmox, and pfSense experience
• Programming and scripting skills in Python, Bash, and Ansible
• Strong and effective communication skills
• A highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-starter approach to work
