Tech Ops Engineer (Overnight Support EST)

As a Tech Ops Engineer at AlphaPoint, you support the overnight EST shift (1am-9am EST) ensuring system uptime and integrity for our digital asset exchange platform used by over 150 customers across 35 countries. You work remotely and collaborate closely with development, IT security, and system administration teams to maintain and scale the infrastructure powering our blockchain technology.

What you'll do

• Ensure system uptime and integrity of customer systems, building and architecting systems to maintain availability
• Monitor daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems
• Manage installations, upgrades, and maintenance of Linux, virtual environments such as Proxmox, and containerized environments such as Docker
• Work closely with DevOps to implement and scale automation of core tasks
• Protect data assets by maintaining strict security policies and guidelines
• Test, troubleshoot, and modify information systems so they operate effectively
• Document technical designs and create training materials and documentation
• Work alongside TechOps, IT staff, IT Security and System Administrators

What you bring

• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Expert-level system administration experience with Debian-based distributions
• Expert knowledge of computer networks, hardware, IT support, IT security, and associated tools
• Experience with multiple hosting environments such as cloud, bare metal, and VPS
• Experience with various databases and SQL (MySQL preferable)
• Programming and scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Ansible
• Strong Linux, Proxmox, and pfSense experience
• Fluency in English
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-starter mentality
• Strong and effective communication skills
