Technical Program Manager (Operational Readiness) (Data Centers)

GalaxyAfton, Texas
OperationsMidOn-site

As a Technical Program Manager (Operational Readiness) at Galaxy Digital, you serve as the operational readiness execution lead for each data center campus. You own the site-level workstream from early design coordination through final turnover, translating operational standards into site-level execution. Managing multiple sites concurrently across varying stages of development, you ensure operational requirements are embedded early and carried through to a clean, accountable handoff to the Technical Operations Manager.

What you'll do

  • Represent Operations as the primary site-level stakeholder during design and pre-construction phases, ensuring operational requirements, maintainability, and Galaxy's operating standards are reflected in project deliverables
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations Reliability, and Construction teams to identify and resolve design gaps that could impact operational performance or safety post-turnover
  • Ensure the site as built aligns with Galaxy's intended operating model, surfacing discrepancies early and driving resolution through appropriate channels
  • Maintain visibility into project schedules and proactively surface risks to operational readiness timelines to the VP of Operational Readiness
  • Serve as Operations' site-level representative throughout the commissioning process, ensuring systems are commissioned in alignment with technical standards set by Engineering and Operations Reliability
  • Coordinate between Commissioning agents, Engineering, Construction, and third-party data center operators to align on scope, sequencing, and acceptance criteria
  • Validate that commissioning outcomes meet the technical and operational thresholds required for turnover
  • Maintain commissioning records that support audit readiness and serve as reference documentation for the Technical Operations Manager post-handoff
  • Work alongside the Technical Operations Manager and Technical Operations Engineer to assess and validate third-party data center operator readiness ahead of turnover milestones, including procedure readiness, staffing, training records, and site familiarization
  • Ensure operators have the documentation, qualifications, and site-specific knowledge required to assume operational responsibility at RFS
  • Own the punch list process through final item completion, ensuring all outstanding items are resolved and formally accepted before turnover is executed
  • Execute a structured, documented handoff to the Technical Operations Manager upon turnover completion and disengage to focus on the next site in the portfolio
  • Serve as the primary operations liaison across all project stakeholders, maintaining alignment and accountability across PMO, Construction, Engineering, EHS, Commissioning agents, third-party data center operators, and tenants
  • Maintain a clear and current picture of each site's readiness status across all workstreams and communicate progress, risks, and decisions to the VP of Operational Readiness
  • Partner with PMO to ensure operational milestones are integrated into the master project schedule and tracked to completion
  • Drive the resolution of cross-functional dependencies that could impact readiness timelines or turnover quality
  • Ensure EHS requirements are accounted for throughout commissioning and turnover activities in coordination with the EHS team
  • Validate that site conditions, operator practices, and life-safety systems meet applicable standards prior to turnover
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance documentation is complete, accurate, and transferable to the Technical Operations Manager at handoff
  • Where applicable, engage with tenants and their representatives throughout the commissioning and turnover process to ensure alignment on timelines, access, and operational expectations
  • Serve as the operational point of contact for tenant-facing questions and commitments during the pre-turnover phase, coordinating with the Technical Operations Manager on items that will carry forward post-handoff

What you bring

  • 8+ years of experience in data center operations, commissioning, or critical facilities program management
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional programs in mission-critical environments
  • A strong technical foundation in electrical, mechanical, and controls systems common to data center environments
  • Experience owning commissioning and turnover processes in a structured, milestone-driven environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent sites and stakeholder relationships without loss of detail or accountability
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical complexity for diverse audiences across organizational levels

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in hyperscale or large-scale data center environments
  • Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, NETA, and relevant IEC/IEEE standards
  • Experience working within or alongside a formal PMO structure
  • A background in construction management, critical systems commissioning, or facilities engineering
  • Military, utility, or industrial operations background
