Total Rewards Specialist – Contractor (6 months)

LedgerParis, France

Ledger is seeking a Total Rewards Specialist to join the Total Rewards team on a six-month contract. The team is entering a high-intensity period with year-end compensation reviews, active benchmarking work, custom bonus plan reviews, and rising analytical demands for executive and board-level reporting. You will work closely with the Paris-based Compensation & Benefits Expert and report directly to the Head of Total Rewards, executing hands-on analytical and operational work with light direction once context is set.

What you'll do

  • Support data preparation and validation for annual merit, performance, and bonus review cycles: build and maintain population files, track timelines, and flag data quality issues early.
  • Work closely with the C&B Expert on modelling and scenario analysis (budget impact, distribution curves, outlier identification), producing clean, auditable outputs.
  • Contribute to salary budget modelling and refresh of salary structures using latest market data, including updates to merit matrices.
  • Coordinate with HRBPs and People Ops on data collection and sign-off workflows to keep compensation cycles on track.
  • Carry out data pulls, analysis, and cross-checks to populate compensation metrics and summaries used in board and executive slides, producing clean, presentation-ready tables with accurate footnotes and sourcing.
  • Provide support during bonus plan reviews: prepare and update slide decks, run employee data analyses, refresh payout range modelling for plan redesigns, and use AI tools to update bonus plan rules documentation in Word.
  • Support the C&B Expert on operational tasks: Workday data uploads, equity grant list preparation and validation, and patent premium tracking.
  • Support ad hoc C&B projects such as job architecture, market benchmarking analytics, and pay equity or equity grant modelling.

What you bring

  • 4+ years of direct Compensation & Benefits or Total Rewards experience (C&B-specific experience is required; broader HR analytics backgrounds without meaningful C&B exposure will not be considered).
  • Advanced Excel proficiency: pivot tables, scenario modelling, audit-proof workbooks, and confident handling of large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with benchmarking tools, particularly Radford or Mercer Comptryx, with familiarity with job matching and market data interpretation.
  • Fluent English (working language of the team).
  • Ability to work from a defined brief with minimal supervision, asking clarifying questions early and working independently once context is clear.

Nice to have

  • Degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent).
  • Experience using Workday for compensation cycle management.
  • Experience working with or supporting stakeholders outside France across European or global markets.
  • French language skills (most day-to-day collaborators are Paris-based).
  • Comfort with AI tools such as Claude or Gemini for document drafting and workflow efficiency.
