Trader Summer Internship Chicago 2027

Join Maven Securities as a Summer Trader Intern in Chicago for a 9-week structured training program starting June 2027. You'll gain a practical introduction to options market making, combining classroom learning, trading simulation, mock trading, and desk shadowing to build the foundations of a professional trader. Successful interns may be considered for Maven's Graduate Trader Program the following year.

What you'll do

• Learn the foundations of options market making through theory-led training delivered by Maven's in-house trainers
• Build your understanding of pricing, probability and risk
• Apply your learning through trading simulation, mock trading and classroom-based training sessions
• Gain exposure to the tools, systems and desk environments used by Maven's Traders
• Participate in additional sessions covering macroeconomics, technical training and desk shadowing
• Receive ongoing feedback and check-ins from the Trading and Emerging Talent teams

What you bring

• You are a penultimate year undergraduate or master's student
• Strong numeracy skills and a solid understanding of probability and statistics
• A genuine interest in financial markets and a curiosity to learn
• A willingness to adopt and utilise emerging AI technologies
• An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to generate ideas, take initiative and drive innovation
• Critical problem-solving and decision-making skills, able to analyse situations and make effective decisions

• Total compensation of $110k-$120k for the 9-week internship
