University Grad – Product Engineer (2026-2027) - Los Angeles or San Francisco

As a Product Engineer at TRM Labs, you'll work on AI-powered intelligence solutions that help public and private sector agencies investigate and disrupt crime. You'll join the Full-Stack Product Engineering team building core products and services-from customer-facing applications to foundational APIs and internal tools-alongside experienced mentors, product managers, and designers. Your code will contribute directly to helping governments, financial institutions, and crypto companies detect and prevent financial crime, from terrorist financing to human trafficking.

What you'll do

• Build and ship full-stack features across TRM's core products and internal tools, with guidance and mentorship from senior engineers
• Collaborate cross-functionally to clarify requirements, ask smart questions, and break down complex problems into shippable pieces
• Learn to design and build APIs and services with scalability, performance, and maintainability in mind
• Write clean, tested, and well-documented code that delivers value to TRM's customers and stakeholders
• Improve continuously through feedback, pair programming, code reviews, and retros, bringing curiosity and coachability to every interaction

What you bring

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field, completed by Summer 2026
• 1-2 software engineering internships, or equivalent experience through academic or personal projects
• Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and an interest in full-stack development using React, Node.js, and Postgres
• An eagerness to learn: you take feedback well and show curiosity about unfamiliar systems or tools
• Strong communication skills-you keep your team updated, ask questions early, and explain your thinking clearly
• Demonstrated initiative through a side project, internship, or campus involvement where you took ownership and saw something through
• Excitement for TRM's mission to build a safer financial system

What we offer

• Base salary range of $130,000 to $150,000 (individual pay determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location)
• Eligibility to participate in TRM's equity plan
• Work location in either Los Angeles or San Francisco with the requirement to work from the office at least three days per week
• Weekly sprint schedule with opportunities to lead projects as technical anchors and grow according to your level and goals
• On-call rotation approximately once every 4-6 weeks, lasting one week
