Back End Developer

As a Mid/Senior Backend Engineer at 4M Exchange, you will build and expand a high-performance digital asset trading platform. You'll focus on real-time systems, distributed backend services, and core trading infrastructure for a fast-growing Web3 trading platform serving users worldwide.

What you'll do

• Design, develop and operate backend services for the trading system
• Build and maintain Order Management, Wallet & Balance, Market Data API and real-time WebSocket Services
• Optimise performance, concurrency, reliability and system latency
• Integrate databases, message queues and external services
• Use AI coding tools such as Claude and Codex to support development, debugging, testing and system analysis
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews and technical planning
• Monitor, analyse and resolve production issues
• Collaborate with Frontend, DevOps and Product teams

What you bring

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Rust
• Proficiency in REST API, asynchronous programming, concurrency and multithreading, networking and distributed systems
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, Redis, Docker and Git
• Familiarity with WebSocket, Kafka, RabbitMQ or NATS, and Microservices Architecture
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production system issues
• Strong problem-solving skills, system design thinking and teamwork capability
• Ability to use AI tools effectively in software development

Nice to have

• Experience in FinTech, Crypto/Blockchain, Trading Systems or real-time platforms
• Knowledge of Order Book, Trading Flow and Event-driven Systems
• Experience with gRPC, Kubernetes or ClickHouse
• Experience with performance optimisation or low-latency systems
• Experience with AI-driven development or AI-assisted coding workflows
